This is a favorite verse. It reminds me that as we navigate through the ups and downs of life, it\’s easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about what the future holds. We may be faced with difficult decisions or challenges that seem impossible. However, Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding.

This verse is a beautiful reminder that we do not have to have all the answers. We do not have to know the future or have everything figured out. Instead, we can trust that God has a plan for our lives and will guide us every step of the way. When we surrender our fears and doubts to Him, we can experience the peace that surpasses all understanding.

So, if you\’re feeling unsure or lost, take comfort in these words and remember that you are not alone. Trust in the Lord, and He will make your path straight. Keep your heart open to His guidance and be willing to follow where He leads you. With God by your side, there is nothing that you cannot overcome. So go ahead confidently, knowing you have a faithful and loving God who will always be there for you.

Journal your thoughts:

1. Reflect on a recent situation where you found it challenging to trust God instead of relying on your understanding. How did that experience make you feel? What did you learn from it?

2. Take a moment to think about a time when you trusted God completely and saw His faithfulness in action. How did that experience strengthen your faith?

3. Reflect on a time when you leaned on your own understanding and faced challenges as a result. How did that experience shape your perspective on trusting in God? How can you use that lesson to cultivate a deeper sense of dependence on Him in the future?

  2. This is good advice! There are at least a handful of times when God’s plan was not my plan (and hence the need to trust him and not rely on myself) and he did instead make my path straight – in a direction I would not have expected but was very good.
