Ditch the Store-Bought, Embrace Homemade: My Sweet & Savory Sandwich Spread Revelation
For years, I’ve been a loyal fan of sandwich spread. That tangy, slightly sweet, and undeniably convenient concoction has been a staple in my fridge. Grab a container, slather it on some bread, and boom – instant sandwich satisfaction. But lately, a little voice in my head kept whispering, “You know you could make this yourself, right?”
That little voice finally won. I decided to ditch the store-bought spread and venture into the world of homemade sandwich deliciousness. And let me tell you, I’m so glad I did!
I’d always assumed making my own spread would be complicated, but it was surprisingly easy. After a little experimenting (and a few taste tests, of course!), I landed on a recipe that I absolutely adore. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and it’s so much fresher and more flavorful than anything I’ve ever bought at the store.
The best part? Making it at home means you can customize it to your exact taste. Want it a little spicier? Add some onion. Prefer a sweeter spread? A touch of sugar or a drizzle of honey will do the trick. The possibilities are endless! (pineapple anyone?)
This recipe makes a good-sized batch, enough to keep me in sandwiches for a while. Plus, it stores beautifully in the fridge, so you can have fresh, homemade sandwich spread on hand whenever the craving strikes.
I’m not going to gatekeep this deliciousness, so I’m sharing my recipe with you all! Get ready to say goodbye to store-bought spread forever.

I had completely forgotten about sandwich spread but your recipe has motivated me to make it and eat it again. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome Bernadette
I must admit I’ve never tasted a sandwich spread. It sounds interesting.
I remember getting it in stores growing up and now too. I thought I’d make my own to my liking. And it turned out good.
New for me. Thank you so much

Hi Aritha, you’re so welcome
Amazing, new for me, but will look at the nutritional value especially carbs and maybe play around with it.
Thank you for sharing and participating at SSPS 349. See you at #350
I haven’t looked at the nutritional value. Sandwich spread is something I grew up with and had always been bought in very few stores that carry it. So I decided to do my own take on it. Lol. There are so many variations I’m sure you can come up with something unique to you. I’m a mayonnaise fan so I’m sure that’s high content. Lol.
Thanks, for responding, will check it out soonest
My mom would do this with a can of Spam. Gosh it has been 60 years or more since I last had some…
Oooo, Spam there’s an idea for me to try.
