I’ve got to tell you guys that I was completely drawing a blank about what to write about for our link-up this month. I had been inspired by our Friend Linda Stoll who a few months back wrote a piece that included questions for her readers. Thanks, Linda, for inspiring this month’s Sweet Tea & Friends post.
So, I thought a prompt game would be a fun and interactive way to bring people together. It’s a virtual gathering. I looked around and found some fun questions. I’m hoping this game will add an extra dose of smiles and encouragement to your day.
What is a Link-Up Party Game?

Thank you so much, Paula, for hosting this monthly link-up. I absolutely love the prompts that you shared in this post. Today, I am grateful for waking up and seeing a new, beautiful day. My favorite fall activity is making hot apple cider in the slow cooker and enjoying it later by the fire pit with my family. We also enjoy hikes and being able to view the beautiful changing colors of the leaves. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful day.
My pleasure Sweet friend. I never thought of making hot apple cider in the crock pot. But I’d like to virtually join you guys at your fire pit.
Paula, aw we would love to have you join us virtually by the firepit. Thank you for hosting a wonderful monthly link up. ✨️
♥️
Paula, thank you for hosting! I added my newest link party to the link up 🙂
You’re so welcome 🤗
When I’m not blogging, I love to read. I would advise a beginning blogger to write what they want, when they want, and not bother with what the stats tell them. We just finished watching Parks & Rec; the ending was fantastic. I have a green thumb for plants inside the house, but not so great for outside plants. Thanks for hosting the linkup and the game, Paula!
You are so welcome. I really liked reading your answers Lisa. Yes, I agree with what you said about stats. It’s rare that I check mine, but every so often I do. ❤️
Favorite thing to do: read.
Favorite meal to make for company: crockpot chicken with potatoes and carrots. It can make a lot, and has wiggle room for being done (it won’t hurt it to stay in the crockpot on low if someone is running late). Plus most of the prep is done ahead of time.
Movie I could watch often: The Princess Bride or the 1994 Little Women with Winona Ryder as Jo.
No green thumbs! My outdoor planters do ok, probably because my husband waters them.
Grew up in various towns in southeast Texas.
Barbara, I love cooking in my crock pot. And I can virtually taste your chicken, potatoes and carrots.
Thanks for hosting, Paula! I like to read, garden, and photograph nature. I’m sure your Beagle is super cute! I have a little Yorkie. If you came to visit, I would take you to Miguel’s Mexican Restaurant.
Awe, a Yorkie, how precious. I’m going to Google Miguel’s Mexican Restaurant and browse.
Hi Paula – what a fun way to get to know others! I could watch “Blue Bloods” every day. I probably do these days as there isn’t much to watch at night 🙂 I grew up in the Bronx, NY and moved to MA. when I married my husband 44 years ago. I love to read and could do so all day. My favorite fall activity is watching our own trees and plants go through their changes. Hope you have a great day!
I’m with you on Blue Bloods, Joanne. 🙂
❤️
I love watching the trees near my house. I observe and am awed each season. I used to watch Blue Bloods, I’m going to have to look to see if it’s on any of the streaming services. xo
Paula, I love the conversation prompts! I was raised in Humboldt and Marin Counties in California U.S.A. While I love to travel I am also a “homebody”. Thanks so much for your monthly party, I will return again as October progressed. Take care and thanks again!
I love getting to know everyone. It’s like we’re all on the porch chatting.
I was wondering what happened to the link up. Where I usually go to link up, her blog seemed to not be hosting it anymore. Thanks for the party!
Hi Amy. This is a my new website. I’m so sorry I should have sent you a note to tell you. I retired my other one. I’m so happy you found me again. xo
Fun idea to add to the link-up! I think I’ll plan on doing a post soon to answer some of the questions. (I’m on vacation at present but will have more time to visit bloggers in a few days!) Thanks for hosting!
No worries Kym. You just rest and relax and have a great vacation dear friend.
Happy October, Paula! We love this link up! My favorite fall activity (besides spending quality time with grandkids) too place this past week. My husband and I spent time on the North Shore of Lake Superior and then at several state parks in northwestern Wisconsin. We love hiking and taking photographs. There’s nothing like the beauty of the changing season witnessed in God’s creation to sooth one’s soul! We cherish this time every year! Wishing you a blessed month ahead!
Oh how fun Laura. I’m totally with you about witnessing God’s changing of the seasons. I’m awed every time.

What a fun idea. I’ll comment on two of your questions and then visit some of the blogs per your recommendations. I’ve links 40, 41, and 42 this week.
11- I love blogging and connecting people with resources to preserve and share their photos, videos, stories, and memories. When I’m not doing that, I also work as an American Sign Language instructor as well as an Interpreter for the Deaf. (They’re two totally different fields with different educational requirements, and not everyone does both, but I do.) 🙂
24 – I used to live in the Pacific Northwest where everything grows without even trying, so I used to think I had a green thumb. Then I moved to New York and now Colorado, and have discovered that I definitely do NOT have a green thumb! ha
Jennifer, how wonderful to be both an ASL teacher and an interpreter for the deaf! Don’t worry I’m with you, because I do NOT have a green thumb either. Lol
Hey you surprised me, Paula … thanks for the shout out!! The only thing I watch on TV is CHOPPED reruns. That’s it, really.
You’re so welcome Linda! You inspired me. I’m going to have to check Chopped out. xo
I love all these questions, Paula. When I’m not blogging, I love baking, gardening and reading. We watch a lot of HGTV, and also some baking championship-type shows. No pets at my house. I was born near Philadelphia but grew up in Kansas, about 15 minutes from where I live now. 🙂
I love when you share about your baking Lois. I used to be a big fan of HGTV , but now I live in a small apartment and as far as flowers go I kill everything. xo
Paula, what a fun idea. Let’s see … besides spending time with some of the little great-grands and their parents, I like to scrapbook, the old-fashioned kind with adhesive and real photos. I almost always visit some posts with recipes. Unfortunately, I don’t cook nearly as many as I pin. LOL. One that I visited in this link-up was Estelle’s Chile Relleno Soup and it looks yummy! I could talk endlessly about God’s Word and how life-changing it is. I have a yellow tabby cat named Henry. And if you visited my town (El Paso, Texas), I’d say you have to try the Mexican food. It’s the best in the world and whenever I’m away for a while, it’s one of the first things I want when I get back. As far as where to eat it, there are so many mom-and-pop restaurants that do it so well that it would be hard to pick one. We also have a famous steak house that is way outside of town. It’s a working cattle ranch that is more of a destination than just a restaurant. They have even filmed some movies out there. And the steaks are amazing! Now I get to go read some of the other comments.
Donna, I used to scrapbook the old fashioned way too. But now I have no follow through. Lol. I don’t always cook as many as I pin either. Awe, Henry how precious. I’ve always wanted to try “real” Mexican food and I just love mom and pop restaurants. And that ranch restaurant sounds fabulous! Steak, yum! I get my meat from the local butcher shop and there’s such a difference from store bought meat. I have to tell you how much I love wygu beef. xo
These are awesome game prompts. Kudos to you. If you were to visit my town I would recommend Golden Gates for breakfast and Red Lobster for Lunch and dinner.
I’m going to have to Google Golden Gates and browse. Lol. And I love Red Lobster it’s my favorite here. xo
I’m not linking any entries but did want to say thanks so much for linking up at the #UnlimitedLinkParty 132. Pinned. However, I will play along and answer some questions.
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not blogging? Sit on the deck or in a beach chair by the water and watch the waves and listen to all of the peaceful sounds as I smell the salty water. And, write, I have to mention that!! Oh, can’t forget visits with my grandbabies ♥
What is one of your favorite blog posts that you’ve written? This might not be a fav, I’d have to go look at them to pick one but the most popular is one titled: WHERE ARE ALL OF THE GRANDMOTHER BLOGGERS?
What is your favorite recipe to cook for fall? I don’t have fav recipes, I don’t like cooking.
If I were to visit your town, what restaurant recommendation would you give me? Probably a Mexican restaurant, I love their food!
What’s a movie or TV show you could watch every day? Not every day but often, it would be any of the Planet of the Apes movies. or something by Stephen King.
What could you give a 30-minute talk on with zero notice? Being a grandmother and having grandbabies which is my greatest blessing ♥
Do you have a green thumb, or does everything you touch die? No, no green thumb here. I have stopped buying indoor plants. If outdoor plants can survive outside with just rain water then I buy them 🙂
I have a big garden but am death to houseplants.
Favorite thing to do is reading,
Favorite recipe for company is lasagna or pizza.
Fun game!
Hi, Paula. I’m popping in again this week with 3 more posts (82, 83, 84) and am off to visit 3 others. Thanks again for hosting!
You’re so welcome Jen. xo
Hi, Paula! I hope you’ve had a good weekend. I’m back again with a few more shares this week: #108, #109, #110. I’ll answer a different party question this time–what’s my favorite blog post I’ve written? That’s a tough one because I have been blogging (next month) for 14 years!! For quite a while, my favorite has been “When Photo Overload becomes Photo Overwhelm” https://lifetalesbooks.blogspot.com/2017/07/when-photo-overload-becomes-photo.html But I lately have been really excited about “How to Carry Every Photo You Own in Your Hand (feat. how to save a special voicemail forever)” because it’s so practical and helpful (and even fun!) https://lifetalesbooks.blogspot.com/2022/09/how-to-carry-every-photo-you-own-in.html Have a great rest of October and I’ll see you again in November. 🙂
Wow 14 years Jen! Congratulations. Next month will be 4 for me. Lol.
