““But just ask the animals, and have them teach you; And the birds of the sky, and have them tell you.Or speak to the earth, and have it teach you; And have the fish of the sea tell you. Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?”

Job 12:7-10— NASB

“Mommy will be back” I say to my dog as she looks at me as if to say what about me? “You can’t go with me this time, I’m going to the store.” I wasn’t gone long, but long enough for her. As she did her happy dance and gave me kisses. Then, she noticed the McDonalds bag and she knew there were chicken nuggets with her name on them in there. Insert a really animated happy dance in here now.

As a single person in midlife, it can be hard when you’re alone. But ever since my fur baby Little Girl, a 7-year-old spoiled rotten, amusingly delightful princess— Oops, I mean beagle, came into my life, things changed in a good way. Little Girl (Little for short) has brought me so much joy, love, and companionship.

Finding joy and companionship in life can be difficult, especially in those times when you’re alone or just down. However, my fur baby little Girl has changed everything for the better. Her unconditional love and comforting presence have brought endless amounts of happiness, joy, and laughter to my days.

Having a pet not only provides us with companionship but also helps reduce stress levels. Reflecting on these blessings, I’m reminded of the constant love and support that God provides us with every day.

The benefits of having a pet are endless. They provide us with unconditional love, comfort, and support. They help keep us active, lower our stress levels, and provide us with a sense of purpose. Little Girl has been a constant source of laughter and love in my life. Her wagging tail, cute little face, and warm snuggles— on her terms have brought so much joy to my days

Just like my faithful companion, God is always by our side, guiding us through life’s challenges and providing us with the comfort we need to overcome anything. If you need companionship, consider adopting a pet. Remember, no matter what life throws at you, God is there to supply love and support.

I am grateful for the companionship and love that Little Girl brings into my life. As a believer, I know that God brought her into my life for a reason, and I am thankful for His provision.

Reflecting on the blessings of having a pet, I’m reminded of the love and companionship that God provides us with every day. He is always with us, comforting us, and guiding us through life’s challenges. Just like Little Girl, God is always by our side, giving the love and support we need to thrive.

So, if you are feeling lonely or in need of companionship, consider adopting a pet. It may just be the best decision you ever make. And always remember, no matter what life throws your way, God is with you, providing you with the love and comfort you need to overcome any challenge.

  1. Beautiful new place, Paula! Congratulations on your new writing home. What a sweet fur baby you have. Our sweet Sadie died about a month ago – and home hasn’t been the same. Home hasn’t seemed as welcoming without our hospitality girl. We’re on a waiting list. I’m glad you have such a just-right companion. They sure add a special ingredient to the day.

    1. Thank you Maryleigh. I’m sure your home is different without Sadie. Yes, Little is sure my just right companion indeed.

  2. Unconditional love for sure. I know we have many kinds of pets but dogs and cats seem to be the norm for most Americans. To me, cats are finicky and those who love cats won’t agree but that’s how I view them. A cat will take you on their own terms. However, I have never seen such with a dog. A dog’s love for you never ceases. It loves you and shows you from the moment you get it, providing you treat it right. Then, some abused dogs will still love you as well. I often wonder why dogs have such short lives compared to other animals – turtles, some fish, elephants, horses, bears, etc. To me, dogs are most definitely man’s best friend and I so wish they lived longer. Thanks so much for linking up at the #UnlimitedLinkParty 122. Pinned.

    1. I’m not much of a cat person either. Yah, I wonder why the life expectancy of dogs is relatively short compared to other animals too.

  3. I think I’d die without dogs. They do make a few problems every day, but still, I can’t imagine life without them. Indeed dogs are the magicians of the universe.

    1. Exactly ! I totally agree with you 💯%

  4. Aww! This is so sweet. It sounds like your doggie is spoilt rotten. Chicken nuggets, what a treat! I have always said that when the kids leave home I will get a pet for company. x
