So do not fear, for I Am with you; do not be dismayed, for I Am your God, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
Today, I happened to be thinking about one of the Social Work positions I worked in, Crisis response and counseling. I was thinking about the different reasons people have told me for wanting to commit suicide. Addictions, abuse, unexpected health diagnosis, breakups. People feel lost because of depression, losing a loved one, job loss, and so much more. It got me thinking about all the lost hope in the world.
Friend, Just when you think you are falling apart, and you think there’s no hope for whatever your situation or crisis may be to you. It is a crisis to God, too, because he doesn’t want to lose you; he Loves you. Isn’t it strange sometimes to think and accept that we have a God who loves us? He chose you to be here and live, you are created for him, And sometimes we may not figure out the purpose he has for us to do here, in this thing called life. But he had you and your purpose already planned out before time existed.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139: 13-14 (NIV)
” Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:16
Child, look up! Our God is Omnipresent; he is always with us. Don’t ever think your sin is too great for him to forgive. Don’t ever think that your situation or crisis is too great for him. He showers his unfailing Love, grace, and mercy to all. He’s the healing of all your hurts, scars, and feelings of hopelessness. His arms are wide open for you to fall into; he will wipe your tears away and say, welcome home, child.
“There I was empty-handed. Crying out from the pit of my despair. There you were in the shadows, Holding out your hand, you met me there.”Zach Williams; Rescue Story
Dear Jesus,
Father, I pray that your presence
may be felt. I pray that you bring peace and
comfort for the brokenhearted,
those feeling lost and hopeless.
Shower those with your
unfailing, abundant, bountiful Love.
I pray that you wipe tears away, lift
up chins, and embrace your children
in your arms.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
