I find myself needing encouragement regularly. I look to the scriptures for peace. We all need encouragement at times. Sometimes we may talk to a trusted friend, a friend in Christ maybe our pastor. And on the flip side, we may be the friends offering encouragement.
At times we may realize, there is no one there to encourage us because those who we usually seek encouragement from seem to be dealing with their own problems.
It\’s taken time but I\’m almost in a steadfast state of awareness to keep my eyes on Jesus. Whether I\’m happy or sad, joyous or depressed, I find myself thinking, keep my eyes on Jesus. I find scriptures to read or an encouraging article or devotional.
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfected of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scoring its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Hebrews 12:2-3 NIV
So, I feel the constant awareness of fixing my eyes on Jesus. When it comes to needing to encourage ourselves, the Lord provides strength to us.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord the maker of heaven and earth. (NIV)
Psalm 121:1-2 NIV
I\’m here for those who need encouragement. Friends, family, fellow bloggers, those whom I don\’t know. Sometimes we may find encouragement in surprising ways, sometimes when we least expect it.
