Have you said or heard someone say \” Lesson Learned\”? We can all learn something from our past and present trials, seasons of difficulties, and storms.

Sometimes it\’s difficult to see what we learn while the season is happening. Then, as the storm clouds move away, and the sun comes out, we begin to see our past and present situations more clearly.

Hardships are a part of life. We learn from our experiences, through our ages and stages. Here are just a few out of many things things Christians can learn from our hardships, obstacles and uncertain circumstances.

Humility

Hardships, obstacles, and sin can make us learn humility. Sometimes dropping us to our knees, or hitting rock bottom. Learning to be humble can teach us to be aware, put others first, have compassionate hearts, meekness, and patience.( James 4:10, Romans 12:3, Luke 4:11)

Learn tot rust God

Sometimes hardships, obstacles, and owning up to and confessing a sin can draw us closer to God. It is written that we should not rely on our own understanding. Likewise, we can not face these things alone. When we trust God, we know that he is in control, he\’s got you and he is faithful. Sometimes we can\’t see it, but he is behind the scenes working for our good. ( Philippians 4:6, Psalm 18:2, Proverbs 3:5-6)

Learn to draw closer to God

God wants to have an intimate personal relationship with us. He\’s interested in us and wants to be close to us. He doesn\’t push us away. It\’s during times of cloudiness or trial, storms and sin that we may push him away. Then we wonder where he is when we\’re facing difficult times. All the while, he\’s been right there, he is faithful. We also learn to draw closer to God when we read his Word, the Bible. ( Matthew 27:1-66, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Philippians 4:11-13 )

Learn to pray

Learn to pray. It\’s really not hard, you can have an intimate conversation with him just as if you and I are sitting at the kitchen table having coffee. When we talk to him, we can be vulnerable, raw, and honest. He wants us to let it all out, so he can build us up. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, he gave them and the people the Lords Prayer as a guide. (1 Peter 5:6-8, John 10:27-29, Romans 12:2, Matthew 6:9-13 )

This is just a snippet of the many ways Christians can learn from hardships.
