This post is part of the Five Minute Friday blog link-up ( Five Minute Friday link-up).

Where I join up with a community of writers and bloggers of all ages and stages who gather around a single word prompt to free-write, unscripted, unedited, for five minutes.

This week\’s prompt is [Present}

“ O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.” Psalm 139: 1-2 (NLT)

God is omnipresent, meaning he is everywhere at all times. There is nowhere that God’s presence does not extend.

Psalm 139 is one of my favorite Psalms. It\’s very comforting for me to know that God in his omnipresence is present with me at all times also. I’m not lonely, because he is there. I am at peace because he is there. I live alone, and he brings me peace, comfort, and security, just knowing he is with me. I don\’t need to fear the people in the neighborhood or the darkness of night.

I so enjoy being in his presence as I enjoy being still, quiet, and immersing myself in his word daily. It is so comforting for me to know God is present with me through every situation, circumstance, and season. There\’s nothing that he doesn’t already know about me or my circumstances.

This is good news to those who know and love God. Because he is present, we will never be lost to his spirit, because it resides within us. No matter where we go or what we do, we can never be far from God’s comforting presence.
