\”My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

John 10:29-30 NIV

One of my favorite memories is the first time I held my babies. I’ll never forget how their bodies felt in my arms, their smell, cry, etc. I’ll never forget wanting to hold them forever, to protect them.

How comforting is it for us to know that just as a shepherd protects his sheep, Jesus protects his people from eternal harm. He holds us in his hands.

Just as moms have carried their babies in their wombs, to be brought to holding them, and wanting to hold and protect them forever. God promises to carry and hold us. He never promised that life would be easy, but he did promise to see us through.

Those babies of mine are adults now, off doing their own thing. It is so very comforting to know that God promises to hold and carry them through.
