“ Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on  toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”

Philippians 3:13-14 NIV

When I walk I find I have to be mindful and look up. I have balance issues so I normally  walk looking down. I am unsteady more than not on uneven ground, and am a fall risk. I have to be mindful of where I’m walking and look ahead to where I’m going.

The above verse comes to mind that this is how I need to be mindful of my walk with Jesus. Forgetting what is in the past, so that I do not get stuck there. For then I would not be able to look ahead and move forward. Pressing on, running the good race for the prize is eternal life with God.

Because of my hope in Christ, I can let go of past trials and storms and look ahead to what God will help me become. I am reminded that I can look ahead to a fuller and more meaningful life because of my hope in Christ.
